Can "Deconvolution" Improve GC/MS Detectability?

ثبت نشده
چکیده

This study uses 35 pesticides spiked in spinach extracts at the 50 ppb level to find the optimal AMDIS deconvolution settings. Additional advantages of using deconvolution versus MSD ChemStation, to find more compounds in an extract are also discussed. The detectability of compounds in a complex matrix is significantly improved with deconvolution. This can also be viewed as better or increased sensitivity through improved selectivity versus the background. Agilent’s MSD ChemStation add-on Deconvolution Reporting Software (DRS) runs AMDIS automatically to generate an easy-to-read quantitation report. PSO-Optimized Blind Image Deconvolution for Improved Detectability in Poor Visual Conditions

Abstract: Image restoration is a critical step in many vision applications. Due to the poor quality of Passive Millimeter Wave (PMMW) images, especially in marine and underwater environment, developing strong algorithms for the restoration of these images is of primary importance. In addition, little information about image degradation process, which is referred to as Point Spread Function (PSF...

Screening for 171 Volatile Organic Air Pollutants Using GC/MS with Deconvolution Reporting Software and a New Indoor Air Toxics Library Application

A retention-time-locked mass spectral database was created specifically for indoor air analysis by thermal desorption/gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (TD/GC/MS). This Indoor Air Toxics Database contains locked retention times and mass spectra for 171 volatile and semivolatile organic compounds that are targets in various indoor air methods. In combination with Agilent's Deconvolution Repor...

Analysis of gin essential oil mixtures by multidimensional and one-dimensional gas chromatography/mass spectrometry with spectral deconvolution.

The composition of essential oils and their mixtures used to formulate gin is usually too complex to separate all sample components by standard capillary gas chromatography (GC). In particular, minor constituents that possess important organoleptic properties can be masked by co-elution with major sample components. A solution is provided that combines gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/M...

Replacing Multiple 50-Minute GC and GC-MS/SIM Analyses with One 15-Minute Full-Scan GC-MS Analysis for Nontargeted Pesticides Screening and >10x Productivity Gain Application

Pesticide analysis of fruits and vegetables requires finding trace-level residues in complex matrices. Up to now, the typical trade-off is between sensitivity and confirmation. Therefore, multiple injections are needed for screening and confirmation using gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) or GC-MS in combination with GC with element-selective detection. With the recent introduct...

Automated resolution of chromatographic signals by independent component analysis-orthogonal signal deconvolution in comprehensive gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-based metabolomics

Comprehensive gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC×GC-MS) provides a different perspective in metabolomics profiling of samples. However, algorithms for GC×GC-MS data processing are needed in order to automatically process the data and extract the purest information about the compounds appearing in complex biological samples. This study shows the capability of independent component analysis...
